We have recently been able to open EAC Advice, a new 'housing options' advice service for older people. Care services offered to people in housing-with-care facilities are regulated, subject to periodic inspections and awarded grades. Wherever possible, Inspectorate reports and grades are accessible from the housing-with-care pages on this website.

The baked goods will be judged as part of this year’s National Care Home Open Day. As the name suggests, the aim of the challenge is to bring individuals together to design and create an eye-catching oversized Easter bonnet. From each home, one lucky resident will be chosen by their peers to be photographed modelling the bonnet. The photo entries will then be judged and prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. Afterwards, the pupils spent time talking with the residents and a great afternoon was had by all. Daily activities and entertainment are a core part of our quality care at Barking Hall. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse, enriching range of weekly activities and entertainment allowing residents to continue to relish in their favourite hobbies and pastimes or to try out something new entirely. Once part of the stables of a much larger estate, it is beautifully tranquil, set on the edge of the hamlet of Barking next to the busier town of Needham Market. The home itself has a very calm and friendly atmosphere, the staff and residents look upon the home like an extended family. However, there are services departing from Gunzenhausen and arriving at Hall In Tirol via Treuchtlingen, Rosenheim and Kufstein.
We frame our offer around ‘home’ because we understand its importance for everyone. But also because planning ahead may be needed to ensure that where you live now is ‘age proofed’, and that if you wish to consider moving, you have good information and advice to help you understand all your options. A challenge we all face as we get older is to think about where we live, and how it will work for us when we’re older. If you intend to ‘stay put’ where you are, then thinking and planning ahead makes sense. As with hotels, the cost of living in a care home varies widely according to its location, the size of your room or suite, and the facilities on offer.
